1. Agreement and Apple terms
By creating an account, using 2nd Line, or confirming a purchase, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. These terms supplement Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). Apple’s mandatory terms control for App Store transactions if a conflict exists.
Read Apple’s Standard EULA2. Eligibility and account security
You must be legally able to enter this agreement in your region or use the service with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. Keep your sign-in credentials secure and notify support if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
3. What 2nd Line provides
- Renewable United States or Canada second numbers when inventory and provider requirements allow.
- Internet-based incoming and outgoing calls and SMS through supported routes.
- Separate call, message, and verification token balances.
- Temporary numbers for a single verification code from supported services and countries when inventory is available.
- Optional rewarded ads that may add the displayed token reward after verification and cooldown checks.
Availability, supported countries, routes, carriers, services, prices, and provider capabilities can change. The app displays current choices and costs before the relevant purchase or request.
4. Number subscriptions
- Each renewable number is attached to its own monthly or yearly App Store subscription slot.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Apple charges renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends at the price Apple displays.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings and restore eligible purchases in the app.
A second number is licensed for use during an active entitlement; it is not sold to you as permanent property. If a subscription expires, is refunded, is revoked, or is not renewed, the line may enter a limited grace period and then be released. Released numbers can be reassigned by a carrier or provider. Export anything you need before access ends.
5. Token purchases and charging
Call, message, and verification tokens are separate consumable products with no cash value. A purchase credits only the wallet identified on the confirmation screen and cannot be moved to another wallet. Apple displays the current local price before you approve payment.
Calls consume call tokens according to destination, route, connection, and duration. Incoming and outgoing SMS consume message tokens according to direction, destination, carrier cost, and segment count. Verification requests consume verification tokens according to service, country, availability, and provider cost. The app may temporarily hold the displayed amount while a provider request is in progress and settle the actual charge after the result is known. If a supported operation fails before service is delivered, the applicable held amount is released or refunded to the same wallet.
If a balance is insufficient, the app may prevent a new request, keep an incoming message unavailable until its charge is settled, or end a call at the available limit. Token requirements may change prospectively when provider costs change; the current requirement is shown before use.
6. One-time verification numbers
A verification number is temporary, supports only the selected service and country, and is intended to receive one code. It is not a renewable second line and does not become your property. Code delivery, acceptance by a third-party service, and inventory are not guaranteed.
Cancellation becomes available only after the safe waiting period shown in the app and remains subject to provider approval. Until the provider confirms cancellation, the activation remains active and tokens may remain held. When a supported cancellation, expiry without delivery, or provider failure is confirmed, the app applies the refund rule displayed for that request. You must comply with the selected service’s own terms and may not use temporary numbers to evade bans, create abusive accounts, commit fraud, or misrepresent identity.
7. Rewarded ads
Rewarded ads are optional. A reward is credited only after the advertising network confirms completion and our server validates the transaction, account, device eligibility, reward type, and cooldown. Welcome rewards can be claimed once where offered. Recurring rewards are limited by the interval shown in the app. Failed, duplicate, manipulated, or unverified ad events do not create a token entitlement.
8. Important calling limitations
2nd Line depends on a compatible device, microphone permission, internet access, Apple push services, Twilio, carriers, and supported routes. It is not a traditional mobile carrier service, does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or caller-ID presentation, and is not a replacement for your primary phone service.
Do not use 2nd Line for emergency calls. Emergency numbers, including 911, 112, and regional equivalents, may not connect or may not provide accurate location. Keep another reliable method available for emergency communication.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use 2nd Line for spam, unlawful robocalling, harassment, threats, fraud, impersonation, phishing, unsolicited marketing, prohibited content, privacy invasion, account farming, sanctions evasion, or activity that violates carrier, provider, platform, or third-party service rules. Do not attempt to bypass token charging, rate limits, verification controls, geographic restrictions, provider safeguards, or security measures.
We may limit a route, reject a request, suspend an account, release a number, or preserve evidence when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, control provider risk, comply with law, or protect users and networks.
10. Refunds and billing questions
Apple processes App Store charges and refund requests under its policies. We cannot access your payment card or independently reverse an Apple charge. Provider-operation refunds described in the app return tokens to the same in-app wallet; they are not cash refunds. Contact support with the affected line, date, and transaction reference if a completed Apple purchase is not reflected.
11. Privacy, availability, and changes
The Privacy Policy explains how account, communication, purchase, device, analytics, advertising, and support data is handled. We work to keep the service reliable but cannot promise uninterrupted provider inventory, carrier delivery, verification-code acceptance, push notifications, or network access. Features and providers may be changed or discontinued for security, quality, cost, regulatory, or technical reasons.
12. Warranty and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 2nd Line is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that a particular number will remain available, that a recipient or third-party service will accept it, or that every call, message, notification, or code will be delivered. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Suspension, account deletion, and updates
You may stop using the app, cancel subscriptions through Apple, and delete your account in Settings. Deleting the app alone does not cancel an App Store subscription. We may suspend access for a serious or repeated breach, fraud, provider risk, unpaid service cost, or legal requirement. We may update these terms when the service or law changes and will present material changes where required.
